Terms of Service

Overview

Kidoob offers dependable child transport for Edmonton families. By joining our community or booking a journey, parents commit to our safety, timing, and payment rules. These guidelines cover your use of our GPS-linked rides, our mobile app, and interactions with our team.

This agreement explains how to use our tracked ride services and parent app effectively. Please look over these points carefully before you schedule your child's first ride with our team.

Our Service Policy

Kidoob provides safe, dedicated travel for kids aged 3 to 17. We help with school runs, after-school clubs, and local trips. Every ride is driven by a vetted professional and can be followed through our secure, real-time GPS tracking system at all times.

Safety Features

Vehicle Standards

Every Kidoob vehicle passes a thorough multi-point safety check every month to meet or exceed Edmonton's transportation safety requirements.

Vetted & Trusted Staff

Drivers must provide a clear criminal record check for the vulnerable sector and a clean 5-year commercial driving history to join us.

Real-time Monitoring

Stay informed with live GPS updates, including your driver's photo and name, plus notifications when they are nearing your home.

Approved Car Seats

We follow Alberta's child safety laws strictly. Booster seats are available and checked for quality to keep your little ones secure and snug.

Emergency Response

If a delay or incident happens, drivers follow a set plan to ensure you and the right authorities are informed and updated instantly.

Internal Cameras

For shared safety and transparency, rides include internal audio and video recording that respects all privacy standards.

Cancellations

We understand that family life stays busy and plans change. This policy details how we handle refunds and credits for missed rides or schedule shifts, ensuring we stay fair to both your family and our hard-working community of drivers.

Over 24 hours notice: You receive a full credit to use for any future Kidoob ride.

12 to 24 hours notice: You receive a 50% credit. This helps us support the driver for their lost time.

Under 12 hours notice: Not refundable. Rides cancelled in this period are billed at the full rate.

Please use the Kidoob app for all cancellations to ensure the time is logged and credits are applied to you automatically.

Parent Responsibilities

Personal Hand-off: A guardian must be there to walk the child to the Kidoob driver and meet them at the end of the trip. If you would like your child to enter the home on their own, we require a signed digital authorization through our app for their safety.

Being Ready: Please have your child ready at the scheduled time. To stay on time for other families, drivers wait for 5 minutes before moving on. If a ride is missed because a child wasn't ready, a missed ride fee may be charged to you.

Staying in Touch: Keep your Kidoob app open during the ride. It is your responsibility to update us on any changes to contacts or destinations. For routing changes, we ask for 4 hours of notice to keep the journey smooth and safe.

Talking to Kids: Please chat with your child about staying buckled up and seated until the car stops. Kidoob wants every ride to be peaceful; we may suspend service if a child's actions make the journey unsafe for themselves or others.

Safety Seat Accuracy: Kidoob provides car seats that meet all Alberta safety rules. Our drivers handle the installation to ensure it is secure. Parents must keep their child's height and weight current in our app so we always bring the right seat for them.

Driver Conduct

Our drivers are passionate about child safety and professional service. This code of conduct ensures that every trip is respectful, calm, and reliable for every family throughout Edmonton.

Drivers keep their vehicles spotless and follow all traffic laws. Their focus is on the road; interactions are kept to safety instructions and kind greetings. Phone use is banned while driving, and all staff undergo regular background checks and safety workshops to keep their skills sharp for your kids.

Punctuality is a priority for our team. If a driver faces an unexpected delay, they will immediately notify you through our dispatch system. To maintain our high standards, any failure to follow these rules leads to the driver being removed from our platform for your protection.

Service Boundaries

Kidoob is a specialized service for kids and operates with clear rules to keep them safe. We provide all necessary safety seats that meet Alberta laws, and our staff is certified to install them correctly. Please note that we are not a medical transport service. Our drivers are trained for safe transit but cannot act as legal guardians, give medicine, or perform medical tasks. Service might be paused during extreme weather or road closures beyond our control. We also reserve the right to stop a ride if a passenger's behavior becomes a safety risk to the driver or themselves. We aim to stay within our mapped service zones to ensure we can always reach you and your child in a timely, predictable manner.

Liability & Risk

Kidoob uses high safety standards and vetted gear; however, all road travel involves some risk. By using our private transport services, you acknowledge these risks and agree to the terms below as we work together to keep your children safe on the road.

Kidoob provides all required child car seats and booster seats for each trip

If you choose to provide your own safety seat, you are responsible for making sure it meets Canadian standards and is in good repair. Kidoob and our drivers are not responsible for any injuries that happen due to the failure or incorrect setup of equipment provided by a parent.

Additionally, Kidoob is not responsible for items lost or damaged during a trip. We kindly ask you to remind your children to check the backseat and take all their school gear, toys, and personal belongings with them when they exit the vehicle at their stop.

Policy Updates

We may update these terms to reflect new safety tools or local laws. When this happens, we will email the address on your account and post a notice in the app 30 days before the changes start. Using Kidoob after these updates means you accept the new terms. We suggest checking this page once in a while to see how we are continuing to protect your family and improve our service. These updates are part of our commitment to being the most transparent child transport service in Edmonton and ensuring you always know exactly what to expect from us.
